Hi there! Welcome to my shop. I like making pretty pieces of jewelry in my spare time for others to enjoy. I use a lot of agate, glass, crystal ( czech, polish, etc ), and a variety of pearls. I'm always looking for different minerals to play with!

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

I will customize a pieces length, no questions asked. However, if it needs to be LENGTHENED and I do not have the beads in stock, I am happy to refund if the current length is not doable!

Care instructions

Do not wear in water, keep them dry! A little rain won't hurt them, but don't wear in the shower/bath or pools, especially if there are harsh chemicals like chlorine present. Keep them stored safely and out of reach of anyone ( or pets ) that might want to chew on them. If you purchase a piece for your child, make sure they know not to put them in their mouth or tug on them too hard. I may in the future add teething bracelets if here is interest.

Can you make me a custom piece?

Yes! Send me an email if you are interested. The only thing to bear in mind is that if you ask for beads that I currently do not have in stock, there will be a 1-4 week waiting period depending on who I get them from. You can do so at ashfordjewelry@proton.me

What metals do you use?

Copper, brass. Most gauges are 24-22, but I'm switching to 20-18 gauge down the road.

My piece's wire looks dirty!

What's happening here is called oxidation! Assuming the gold plating has worn off, this means the copper is exposed to the elements. You can use things like baking soda, vinegar or lemon juice to help buff some of that out.

My piece's findings look dirty!

This is oxidation in brass! Its the same process that occurs with copper. Vinegar and salt has been touted as a good solution to it! However, use what you think is best.

My piece isn't gold anymore! Why is this happening?

I use copper wire with gold plating and plating can wear off very easily as its super thin. This is completely normal. Some people will go through the electroplating process to resolve this issue, but I do not know how much this costs and if buyers would find this worthwhile.

Oxidation?

Oxidation can occur for a variety of metals, including the ones I use. It means the metal itself has been exposed to the elements and is going through this process. The change in color you see is called patina and both are natural occurrences.

Patina?

Patina is the tarnishing of metals and is formed through the oxidation process.

Do you print on demand?

Currently, no. This may be an option in the future once I have a better printer & paper. I would like to do everything in house, as far as basic prints go.
