All About Allevery
Mission: To enrich Hmong culture and creativity, empower the Hmong youth, and preserve our heritage.
Vision: Allevery is here to tell a Hmong story: United by culture and history, the Hmong community stretches all over the world. We want to be a space where Hmong people can find representation in art and products, and feel a sense of pride in our culture. Our founder, Chua Xiong, created Allevery so that we can share our ancestor's stories in a creative and cool way, but also share our own story as well.
How Did Artist and Designer, Chua, Get Started?
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I spent most of my downtime playing the Sims. I had a Sim who worked from home as a graphic designer. I thought to myself how cool would it be to be able to do that. This thought was just a dream, and at that time I was living in paradise (Honolulu, HI). So what better way to make my dream a reality while in paradise. It was like a double dream! Thus my art journey began all thanks to the Sims. I bought an iPad, an Apple pencil and practiced every second of the day. I started getting some gigs helping small businesses on their logo and branding. I then moved on to illustration which I truly felt was the path for me. I began selling my illustration and stumbled into the rabbit hole of pattern design. It kept going! Had I never played the Sims, I think I wouldn't be here today selling my art, contributing my skills, and designing for small businesses.
The fact of the matter is that I've always loved drawing. At one point in time, I wanted to become an artist and fashion designer. Fast forward to today, I am stepping into the person I am meant to be.
Hi. My name is Chua and I live in the city of trees (Sacramento, CA). I love dancing and hanging out with my best fur pal, Dembe. I have a passion for sharing my heritage and inspiring others to be their authentic self.
