Contemporary jewelry, by Ana Pina
Ana Pina was born in 1980, in Porto, Portugal, city where she studied, still lives and works.
When little, she’d always preferred to draw with crayons than to play with legos, but ended up studying architecture.
After working a few years in this area, she decided to hear her inner voice and follow a more creative path as a freelancer, venturing herself in the wonderful world of jewelry.
In July of 2012 she completes the Contemporary Jewelry course in the school Engenho e Arte, in which she develops new creative and technical skills.
In June of 2015 she launches a new project and opens the doors of Tincal lab - a virtual platform and jewelry atelier, in Porto's city center.
In her jewelry line she creates unique pieces or in limited series, combining traditional jewelry techniques and contemporary concepts of design, in search of a modern and feminine style.
She's influenced by drawing, color, the nature of materials, contrasts and textures, geometric relations and asymmetries.
Some of her favorite things include: cats, the color red, chocolate, shoes, books, music, cinema, travels and yoga.
