Welcome to ArtistryAnn!
Hello and welcome to my shop! I graduated from IUN in 2020 with my bachelor's in Fine Art. During my senior year of college, I created 6 large-scale abstract portraits featured in some of the photos above. Abstraction was a movement that I gained interest in and wanted to explore. Motivated by high contrast photographs, I began by capturing portraits of myself in intense lighting. Fascinated by the broken-up composition, highlights and shadows fade me into the background, cutting me off into fragments rather than a solid figure. These large works were created on un-primed canvas with acrylic paint and other mixed medium like holographic materials, fabrics, and foils. As a hands-on artist, I create my work with a combination of materials. Experimenting with water, I let the acrylic paint bleed into the canvas. Shapes start to form, which correlates to the emotional attachment of my paintings. Emotions take time to sink in, heal, and inspire. Envisioning the human body, I construct shapes with my materials and use marks that mimic actions of the human figure. I dissect myself through this process, unlocking discovery within me. For my audience, I want my work to be questionable and open to different interpretations. Through abstraction, I aim to create works that empower the individual and expose an inner dialogue with the viewers. In 2020, I received a certificate of honor for Outstanding Fine Arts BFA Major. I've always been super passionate for art ever since I was young. It's always been my dream to share and sell my art. I love working with many different mediums including acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal, colored pencils, and clay. My store will have a mix of different art and crafts. I hope you enjoy my work, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to check out my shop! If you know anyone who would be interested in my artwork, please like and share my shop with them. Your support means the world to me!
