Meet the Artist
Hoda lives in Washington DC where she set up her BELLINATS workshop. She became a member at Glen Echo Park Silverworks studio, and a member of the Washington Goldsmith Guild society. She is exhibiting at various art venues in the DC area and in Rehoboth Beach DE. She is also participating in craft shows all over the mid-Atlantic region.
Hoda uses semi precious beads and stones, Silver and Brass metals, Wax and precious metal clay (PMC) to create some unique jewelry. Every piece is designed and executed by the artist, making it a special, unique and personal item.
From the Biology lab bench to the work bench:
After a successful career in DNA sequencing and Bioinformatics, Hoda moved to Rome in 2009 where she pursued her hobby in jewelry making. She attended the school “L’ Academia delle Arte Orafe” in Rome and completed 3 courses in Basic metal jewelry making, lost wax technique, and basic stone setting.
In 2011 Hoda moved back to Beirut (Lebanon). She re-connected with her background and enjoyed the wonderful creativity wave that is hovering over Beirut. She Joined the Jewelry Technology Institute of Lebanon (JTIL) where she completed the Jewelry design drawing course as well as the computer GemVision Matrix design course.
BELLINATS started in 2014 in Hoda's basement in Bethesda MD. With some advice from professional jewelers and friends, Hoda started using various techniques such as Keum boo, silver oxidization, patinas and stamping. Every piece is created with tender loving care and is unique to add grace and glitter to your beauty.
