The story of Cariad Jewellery...
I've been making jewellery for over 25 years, I started with an evening class to learn silversmithing as a way to escape a dull day job! I loved it and I've been creating jewellery in some form ever since. It's in my genes to have a creative outlet, my gran was always sewing, my mum always knitting and I'm terrible at both!
I used to sell regularly at craft fairs and local events but becoming a mum meant I wanted to spend weekends with my daughter, plus being outside in all weathers wasn't much fun! So I stopped selling for a number of years, just made for fun and myself.
Fast forward to 2021 and a work colleague asked if I could restring a broken elasticated bracelet (from a well known brand). This led to more requests and I just decided the time was right for me to get back to selling. As a single mum with a teenage daughter, the extra money can always be spent!
It has become much more than a way to earn extra money, getting sales and lovely feedback really does mean a lot. When handmade business owners tell you they appreciate every sale, we're not lying! There's no better feeling than repeat customers 🥰
I make jewellery that stands the test of time both in look and quality. I only use high quality components from my long established and trusted UK suppliers.
Even though I use high end components, I keep everything as low cost as I can to try and ensure that my customers can treat themselves or gift others, despite the rising costs of living! We all deserve a little treat!
The plan for this year is to increase the styles and designs I offer. I also plan to add some of my enamelled jewellery earrings which I'm really excited about!
