I originally trained in Fine Art, with dreams of having a studio and painting like Picasso, but after 6 months of starving, I followed a career in community arts & education. Basically working in an office, enabling other creatives to make work. Following this was raising 2 children. Then surviving a long period of serious illness. I was drawn to making to help my recovery and regain some control and purpose again. After dabbling making jewellery, I decided to do a HNC in Jewellery, which catapulted me into the fantastic world of contemporary jewellery & design.

I create one of a kind statement jewellery (wearable sculpture), which is inspired by the many holidays and trips my family and I have taken around the UK. Growing up in Birkenhead and studying in Sunderland, Shipbuilding & seafaring areas, also heavily influences my work. Patinas, textures and forms found in these areas, such as rusty chains, barnacle encrusted rocks, seaweed swept up on the beach, provide inspiration for large style earrings and neckpieces. Making jewellery from metal is my first love, but I also incorporate vitreous enamel, recycled plastic, gemstones, crochet, knitting and fold forming, as I like to combine traditional crafts with more modern processes and materials. These influences and processes come together to produce unique and limited ranges of jewellery that evoke a sense or memory of place. The aim to create a totally unique piece of jewellery, just for you.
