Preserving Memories with Handmade Miniatures
I believe that the most beloved places and things shouldn't just live in the corners of our minds. A childhood bedroom, a kitchen that smelled of cookies, or even a well-loved chair are more than just locations and things—they are the containers and pieces of who we are. I don’t just build rooms and items; I am preserving special moments from the past. It's recreating a story in a tactile way.
When you miniaturize a memory, you get to interact with it again and share it in a special way. You get to relive happy moments, using your senses, not just your memory. You can dig through drawers, rearrange your living room, or reorganize your record or book collection.
The details are important—the chipped paint, the stained cushion, the wobbly railing—these are all part of your story. By obsessively collecting vintage fabric, wallpaper, and beads, I give the materials new life and let their history continue on.
I create for the nostalgic hearts. I believe that your story is worth keeping, and that a 1:12 or 1:16 scale "snapshot" is a tiny time machine that can keep going and be shared with others.
