Dreams, stories, colours and texture, that's what my world is made of.
Hi, my name is Deidre and I welcome you to my little dream world!
I am a polymer clay and needle felt artist, and my original work comes both in the form of clay paintings, needle felted pictures and wearable art jewelry.
I started my shop at the end of 2011. Back then I was making polymer clay jewelry and addicted to crocheting and combining my polymer clay jewels with my crochet jewelry.
Over time, my polymer clay work developed into much more intricate designs, from which my story art pieces were born, starting with small little witch pendants, then bigger mermaid and fairy pendants and by now I'm sculpting paintings, illustrations of little story scenes in my mind, really.
During this time I also developed a love for needle felting, hand dyed and handspun art yarns and silk yarns as well. I fell in love with the texture, the deep vivid colours and the unpredictable-ness of fiber.

With the help of photography I also offer depictions of my original clay and felt work as illustrations in other forms such as art prints and greeting cards.
I'm a dreamer and I love the idea of not knowing where my art will take me and the idea that the possibilities are endless.
Next to my work, my greatest passion is traveling. My favorite destinations are Ireland and Scotland by far. I love how the land there has so many different shades of green, and how the sea and lochs and rivers have so many different shades of blue.
The history and myths are so tangible there and the winds feel like they carry magic. Every time I leave, I can't wait to go back. And every time I come home inspired.
I stumbled upon polymer clay by accident. A girl at work brought some with her and I was excited right away. I bought a stash that same day and haven't gone without a piece of clay in my hands ever since that day. I love how versatile and colourful it is and I love the feel of it in my hands.
After a little while I re-discovered crochet through my mum and grandma. The concept of making jewelry and pretty accessories with yarn and embellishing them with my clay jewel creations came naturally after that. (See my other shop for my fiber jewelry and other wearable items that combine with my clay jewel pieces)
I love working with hand dyed and hand spun yarns, because the texture is so wonderful and the colours so vibrant. It also means I know where my material is coming from and that I get to support another artist and that my work is much more eco friendly.
This lead to my discovering needle felting and the awesome colours and textures that needle felting with yarns and other fiber materials brings to a felted piece.
