Dusk 2 Dawn Creations: The product of One Mother, One Daughter, Chronic Insomnia and a Craft Room- How it Started!
Dusk 2 Dawn Creations is a small craft business founded in 2022 by mother-daughter duo Dawn Marie and Amy Dawn. The name reflects both our shared name and the countless hours we spent creating together in the quiet moments between dusk and dawn—working around a night-shift schedule, chronic insomnia, and the joyful chaos of raising young children. We love giving new life to old materials and work with a wide variety of mediums, many of them repurposed, including fabric, jewelry, cardboard, paint, dye, and just about anything made of paper.
Our journey began with an unexpected spark in 2021. While recovering from COVID, Dawn discovered the world of junk journaling and quickly fell in love with it. Before long, she was collecting everything in sight—wrapping paper, Amazon boxes, cereal cartons, and just about anything that could be given a second life in a journal. Amy thought she was a little crazy...until Dawn introduced her to the art of hand-dyeing paper.
One afternoon was all it took—Amy was completely hooked. Before long, the two of us had created far more beautiful paper than we could ever use ourselves, and Dusk 2 Dawn Creations was born. What started as a way to share our hand-dyed papers soon grew into creating handcrafted journals and an ever-changing collection of unique, handmade treasures.
Our goal is to create meaningful pieces that spark joy, bring peace, encourage healing, and become treasured keepsakes for everyone who receives them. Because so many of our materials are thoughtfully repurposed, you never know exactly what you'll discover in our shop. While our collection is always evolving, our handcrafted journals and hand-dyed papers will forever remain the heart of Dusk 2 Dawn Creations.
