Ear Candy's story
HEY! I'm Ellie; the maker behind Ear Candy Handmade UK.
When I discovered the beautiful medium that is polymer clay back in 2020, I just HAD to try making my own jewellery.
Personally, I've always suffered from sore, painful ears after wearing big dangly statement earrings, even if it's just for a few hours. I was getting quite fed up of wearing earrings as they were just too painful. The problem was: I just LOVE earrings. So once I found polymer clay, it was a totally different story! It's super lightweight: you wouldn't think you're wearing anything in your ears at all. I instantly knew it was perfect for me and my sensitive ears.
All of my products are handmade by myself at home in Swansea, Wales. All jewellery is made in mini batches with a zero-waste attitude. Every item is made individually and is completely unique because I mix my own clay colours. My knowledge of colour mixing I've gained from my art and design education comes in handy here! Although it's a lengthy process on my end, it's always totally worth it when I get to see you styling and rocking my creations! My main aim is to bring smiles to people's faces in creating modern and unique wearable art for your ears.
I'm big on being as kind to our planet as possible both in my business and personal life. I have put a lot of time and research into my packaging in order to be an eco-friendly business. I make most of my earrings with surgical steel metal but also use other metals (see individual item product descriptions for details). I also offer an upgrade to sterling silver for £4 extra per pair. I offer this option in these types of earrings: posts, ball posts, hooks or hoops. I also have the option of clip-on pieces for those without piercings. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions you'd like to ask me.
So far, I'm extremely proud to say that I've provided over 1,600 people worldwide with beautiful handmade, slow-made jewellery that doesn't irritate our sensitive ears! It brings me so much joy just imagining all the smiles and happiness I've spread across the world through my creations :)
