Peony and Lace

Announcement    As a professional bespoke wedding dressmaker I mostly make unique, couture wedding dresses for brides who visit my studio in Surrey, UK. But I also indulge myself making flights of fancy dresses for styled photoshoots. I love the dresses I make like they are my babies but like children you have to set them free so I list them here at discounted prices to help them find their 'wear me out' owner. Affordable couture, which one calls to you?

I might also list whimsical finds from my workroom drawers, over the years I have hoarded vintage wedding dresses and accessories, tiaras, jewellery, fabrics, trims and embellishments. Silk, lace, satin and vintage prints by the metre or as bags of scraps for crafty fun. 'Toiles', calico practice runs of real wedding dresses ripe for use as art projects or as dress patterns for your own creations. If it's time to make some space you lucky Etsy buyers get to rummage through my boxes and drawers to find pretty bargains.

Prices are bargain basement low to help me make space in my workroom. I am happy to take commissions for new, custom items but the prices will reflect that they are being created specially from scratch, not as a sale item like these listed in my shop.

Please do check delivery times before you order, rush orders are often possible but please get in touch first.

Payment

Items will be posted promptly following your order (or once they have been made up), prettily presented in a protective packaging using a suitable postage method agreed with you (or chosen by me if you do not express a preference).

If any item is a gift I will happily send it out direct to the lucky recipient for you, gift wrapped and with a personal note as well as a gift receipt inside.

Shipping

I post all my items by second class post to keep costs down. If you would prefer faster or more secure postage this can be arranged, please just get in touch.

Most items, listed as 'ready to ship' will be posted out within 1-2 days to reach you within 5 working days in the UK. Overseas order times will vary.

Delivery times on special commissions will vary according to the nature of the order where you are and how busy I am. As a general guide accessory orders will be approx 10 days but larger orders like wedding dresses may be weeks or even months to fit into my working schedule. I will always agree a time-frame with you before accepting your order.

All items will be insured but my experience is that items lost or damaged in the post are never re-paid by the postal companies, they always have some excuse. I therefore do not take responsibility for items lost or damaged, beyond supplying you with the insurance information so you can chase the compensation yourself if you want to. Items that 'never arrive' cannot be refunded.

Additional policies and FAQs

I love custom orders, please just give me a shout about what you want.

I do not currently accept wholesale orders but would be willing to work on a one to one basis with bridal retailers if they would like to stock any of my designs.

I am poor, can you make sell this to me for less?
I love my job and I love creating beautiful things for people who will treasure them but this is how I earn a living; I cannot pay the mortgage on discounts! A handmade bespoke item will always cost more than things made in an industrial process, please do not ask me to try and compete with their low-wage prices.
