Welcome to Hammered and Chained Jewelry, a small family business dedicated to making artisan jewelry featuring natural gemstones, rocks, and metals.

Our jewelry business started with a love story... way back in the 90's~ 1994 to be exact. High school, flannels, Pearl Jam; Joe & Cyndi fell in love at first sight in high school drama class (yeah, we were both creative types even then... and, it was the 90's, after all).

Throughout our relationship, we've spent every ounce of time that we could at the various rivers around us. At those rivers, we discovered a mutual love of rockhounding. Over the years, that love of rockhounding has evolved to finding, cutting (our brand-new faceting machine will arrive in June 2014!), and creating jewelry out of gemstones & rocks that we find ourselves.

Our sanity is (almost) always found when we haul the boys & dog out into the middle of nowhere to find rocks & gems. Our four boys know their way around picks & chisels; we've only been to the emergency room once. ;)

To maintain our sanity at home, Cyndi creates jewelry using metalsmithing techniques & Joe creates jewelry made by using chainmailling techniques. Thus our name, Hammered and Chained Jewelry. Our jewelry & supply business, Metal & Stone llc, is where we sell our handcrafted jewelry supplies, including jump rings, clasps, headpins, and loose stones.
