An explosion of creativity in art and fabric
I think what makes my Cuddle Buddies special is that even though they are all made from my same original pattern, they each have their very own quirks and personalities. I just add horns here, wings there, change the ears, to suit the character or animal that I'm working on. And I love that their arms always look like they're outstretched, wanting a hug - which is where "Cuddle Buddies" comes from. The human art doll bodies and My Little Ponies are made of a super soft fleece that makes them extra cuddly. The scrap dragons, witches, and other various baby animals are made from, well, scraps of various fabrics I have collected.
My inspiration comes predominantly from Japanese anime, with a sprinkle of tv and movies. No matter what I'm watching, I always end up thinking "PLUSH ALL THE THINGS!" by the end of the episode. I'm hopeless!
My house/studio is home to a raucous pirate crew of my best friends. Dani, Nevi, Myke. They're writers, artists and creatives in their own amazing ways. Always helpfull with a critique when requested, advice on whether or not the ears are too big or the hair looks flat and can always be counted on to stop me when I'm getting all perfectionist crazy. Can't forget our two rowdy kitties, Erika and Khoshekh, who live to help when I'm working on a project! lol
I hope by sharing my little art doll creations that you will find a friend and they will find their forever home with you.
