Pure, Wholesome, and Safe
When I became pregnant for the first time, I wanted to make sure I was taking every precaution not to expose my baby to harmful chemicals. I began to research the ingredients in my bath and beauty products. I was shocked to learn that even the items that advertised themselves as "natural" had a whole bunch of UNnatural and unpronounceable ingredients. I had a hard time finding products that were REALLY ACTUALLY natural and that were pure and safe for my baby. So, I started to make my own.
I gave myself strict rules. No chemical fragrances, only 100% pure essential oils. No parabens, no sulfates, no dyes, no artificial colors, no phthalates, no triclosan, and no formaldehyde. I wanted to recognize everything on the ingredient list.
After years of creating, I found that everything I made without chemicals and preservatives felt extra moisturizing and nourishing to my skin, so much better than what I could find at the store. I knew other people were looking for the same thing I was, so I began to share it with others. And Honest Roots Farm grew from there!
I also knew that if I was going to start a shop, I'd want it to be as eco-friendly as possible. It wasn't easy, but I was able to find suppliers that had the same philosophy as me. All the paper products we use come from recycled materials. We use glass jars for our sugar scrubs because they can be reused and they are better for preserving the integrity of the essential oils. We try to use local ingredients whenever we can. The coffee we use is fair-trade, organic, and locally roasted! We also have plans to grow our own lavender, calendula, and other botanicals on our farm! It doesn't get more local than that:)
I am excited to continue to research and create the most nourishing bath and body products on the planet, using only real, pure, wholesome ingredients that are safe, even for the tiniest of loved ones.
