Handmade by Neurodivergent Artists, Crafted for Kindred Spirits
Howling River Crafts is a small, family-run studio created by partners Johnathan and Sarah-two neurodivergent artists building a life around creativity, imagination, and a lot of everyday chaos (the good kind).
We are parents to three children five-years-old and under, and most of our days are a mix of parenting, creating, and trying to finish a thought before someone needs a snack or nap. Through it all, we’ve built this shop as a way to turn what we love into something sustainable, so we can stay home with our kids while sharing our work with people who genuinely connect with it.
Johnathan has been immersed in tabletop storytelling for 17 years, with Dungeons & Dragons at the center of that world. He now professionally DMs online, helping others step into adventures filled with imagination, laughter, and storytelling. ADHD is his superpower, giving him bursts of hyperfocus on story building and fueling his creative process.
Sarah has been crocheting for 12 years, steadily turning yarn into everything from cozy creations to whimsical companions. She is also currently exploring digital art, with plans to bring new illustrated works into the shop in the future. Her AuDHD means she is always challenging herself to learn a new creative skill and perfect her craft-both creative and spiritual.
Together, we’ve built a creative life that reflects who we are: Johnathan is a golden retriever gamer. Enthusiastic, curious, and always ready to dive headfirst into a new idea. Sarah is a black cat partner. Quietly observant, deeply creative, and happiest when crafting something meaningful in her own space. Our dream is simple: to create what we love, share it with a community of like-minded people, and build financial stability through our art so we can continue being present for our children while doing work that feels true to us.
Everything we make is a little piece of that dream, summoned with care, imagination, and a touch of magic.
