When I was young, I became interested in art and jewelry design due to my lack of mobility. I was born with a genetic bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or Brittle Bone Disease, which causes my bones to grow abnormally and break easily. Since I wasn't able to do many of the physical activities my peers enjoyed, I found great value in artistic expression at a very young age.

Through my years of education, I learned several different artistic mediums and found that I enjoyed painting and jewelry making best. I have been painting, mostly with watercolors, since I was five and designing jewelry for the last ten years or so. After graduating from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2011, I began my own business, KAK ART & Design, LLC, where I make jewelry, paint, and do freelance graphic design full-time.

My Etsy shop mostly consists of my jewelry line, all containing nothing but semi-precious and precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, sterling silver, and 24K gold. In other words, it's all the real thing. Each piece is unique, and you will never find two of the same design in my shop. I also take commissions for custom work. As my paintings are a large part of my creative outlet, it is only fitting that they are available here as well!
