Coloring on the walls
Welcome to the shop of designer and illustrator Katherine Lenius.
I grew up drawing on all kinds of surfaces: notebooks, my shoes, my mother's cookbooks, and the walls. I wasn't praised for all my efforts, but I loved art. Life took me on a different path but while staying home with my three kids I rediscovered my love of art and decided it was time to try a new path. I love to surround myself with beautiful things that hold special meaning and I think art can help make our everyday beautiful: from art on the walls to a kitchen towel or pretty notebook. My hope is that my art and designs will once again find their way onto a number of surfaces.
I'm inspired by vintage textiles, children's books, my garden, inspiring words, nature, and the little objects that inhabit my world. My art always begins with pencil and paper then I sometimes add ink or watercolor and I finish my artwork digitally which lets me change my mind as often as I want.
