Self-taught, always-learning artist
I am a self-taught artist.
I paint with acrylics and sometimes watercolors.
When not painting, I also...
carve and pull my own block prints.
make soldered charms and wire wrapped bead necklaces.
play with paper & old books, making wreaths & love tokens.
design hand-embroidered, wool applique, fiber art.
I am very honored that my work has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens Make It Yourself 2012, FOLK, Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Crafts 2011, Romantic Homes, GreenCraft (a Stampington publication), Early American Life, Create and Decorate, Victoria, Arts & Crafts, and several online home decor and wedding blogs, as well as a book called Playing with Books: Upcycling, Deconstructing, and Reimagining the Book.
Besides being a work at home artist, I am a wife and mom. I live on the Cumberland Plateau on the border of middle and east Tennessee and the central and eastern time zones. It's a beautiful rural area where my family and I enjoy our home, 4 dogs, 1 cat, and a never-ending menagerie of wildlife in our yard and woods: birds, rabbits, chipmunks, deer, squirrels, opossum, skunks, snakes, coyotes, bears, and elk!
I love God, my family, my pets, nature, & simple joys.
I love finding beauty in everything!
