I love making things by hand. Absolutely love it. I have been doing it for a while now and it is such a huge part of my life.
The possibilities are endless in this field, so there is always something new to try or to learn. It keeps things fresh. Which keeps me on my toes and keeps things interesting.
I've always had a penchant for bold, unusual, chunky jewellery. Something that will stick in your mind, even after only seeing it once. Something that no one else you know has. Something unique and original. Though simple pieces have their place too.
At this point in my life, my girls are where most of my time is dedicated. This means time at my bench is sporadic and perhaps even more precious. It is something I look forward to, especially when the creative ideas are flowing (which by the way is also sporadic o.O)
So whilst my little family grows, I snatch little pieces of time to spend at my bench - making anything I want, or nothing at all. Just knowing that I have the opportunity to do it and to send it out into the world, gives me nothing but pure joy and satisfaction and keeps the mundane things from being less....well, mundane.
