Hi there! My name is Meghan, and I am a tea lover, a super nerd, a hoarder of cute things, a full time daydreamer, and since I was very young, I knew I wanted to create.
When I was 4 years old, my parents gave me my first set of polymer clay. I loved squishing and mixing all of the bright colors and bringing my imagination to life through sculpture. I was immediately hooked! I loved sculpting, and I loved making happy and colorful pieces that I could share with my friends and family. When I was 10, I even went to my first kids art market and sold my miniature creations! In 2012 while I was still in college, I picked up sculpting again as stress relief, but soon realized that I wasn't able to keep myself from creating 24/7. I moved from sculpting as a hobby to building a business full of adorable sculptures and jewelry, and Mariposa Miniatures was born!
I aim to offer only high quality and quirky jewelry, as well as cute collectible miniatures for both kids and those who still feel like kids. As someone who struggled with nickel allergies, I chose to make sure all of my jewelry, was nickel and lead free. My colorful charm bracelets are made from lightweight aluminum, my post earrings have hypoallergenic titanium posts, and I have non-metal options for my necklaces. I wanted to make sure no one fell in love with my jewelry and thought "oh, but I can't wear that," because yes you can!
My miniatures are made to give you all sorts of warm and fuzzy feelings when you look at them sitting on your desk, or in your shelves and shadowboxes. I love tiny figurines, because it means you can collect even more! My totems are great company, and are full of charm and character. There are so many fun critters to choose from that I'm sure you'll find one that speaks to you!
Once you've found the perfect piece, I will make sure to pack them up nice and snug so they can travel safely to your doorstep. I use recycled and eco friendly packaging like kraft paper boxes and paper crinkle fill. A huge part of my inspiration is loving the world around me, so I feel it's best to keep our wonderful earth in mind in every part of my business from creating to shipping. Please feel free to re-use packaging, or recycle what you won't keep!
