We are new to Etsy but our shop was founded in 1995 by Marvin, a retired Detroit Police officer and Louise, a retired Detroit school teacher. The two met at the Big Boy on 8 Mile when Marvin swept Louise off her feet driving his 1958 pink Cadillac. The initial start of the business was making shirts to sell to Detroit Police officers and their families for off-duty wear. It was a huge hit and the business has been growing and expanding ever since. We embroider, screen print and put logos on just about any item you can imagine.

We are still family owned and operated. Veronica and Nicole are their daughters, who were born and raised in Detroit. Veronica is a partner with her Mom & Dad in the business and Nicole and her husband, Jon, run our screen printing operation. Marvelous Detroit has a great staff of friends and some more family that make us all look good every day. Bianka and Stephanie are our amazingly cool artists that bring all of our ideas to life. Blanche, Michelle & Sharron are our experienced embroiderers with great attention to detail. Trevor helps get all this good stuff to you by listing new items, corresponding, shipping and bringing the goodies from our shop to your door!

We are "east siders" if you must know. We all grew up around Gratiot in one neighborhood or another. We've shopped at Hudson's downtown, rode and danced on the Boblo Boat, had paper routes for the Detroit News, sipped margaritas at Xochimilco, celebrated on the streets when the Tigers won the '84 World Series, cruised Gratiot, took driver's training at Denby High School, and cheered on the Tigers, Lions & Wings at too many games to count! Detroit is our passion and love and the heart of everything we do.
