Mere Trinkets
Hi! Here I am on Etsy. Before this, I owned and ran a gallery for several years, worked at an NBC affilliate doing marketing and graphics--before that worked in advertising, radio, and taught art history (for 6 weeks--just filling in for someone).
I was about 4 when I discovered that I had preferences about everthing. I was a work in progress. We all go there, forever, but what a thrill to do it for the first time.
My favorite thing turned out to be: Beauty. It touches me in ways that nothing else can, in art, music and life. My love is beauty. And it ranges from a shiny piece of mud to a glorious piece of art.
Through the years I've devoured anything about design and art. and sought answers for my curiosity about people. So, I studied anthropology and ethnology at the University of New Mexico.
I considered anthropology as a major after finishing my art history classes because of my interest in ethnology--the history of our families, our tribes, our clans--our ethnicity--and how we express ourselves in our jewelry, dance, and costumes.
As an art major, I took silversmithing classes at Kansas University. Much later I took the leap to set up on Etsy.
So, here we have it, my past and my future on Etsy. I think you'll find my jewelry is mostly casual and includes in them my love of beauty in nature and culture I found, and still find so fascinating.
I appreciate being on Etsy doing the work I love. And I want quality work and attempt to make my work as wonderful as possible.
I truly thank everyone who has been on this journey with me. And thanks to you for checking out my site!
If you'd like to see more of my style, I'm on Pinterest as Mere Trinkets. I'm on Twitter as @MereTrinkets and FB as Mere Trinkets. I also have a blog--www.meretrinketsblog.blogspot.com, but illness has kept those pages empty for awhile.
Warmest regards,
Suzie
