Conceptually Simple, High Quality Eurorack Modules
MRG Synthesizers designs, produces and builds Eurorack Modules in Cambridge, UK.
I (Gianluca) really like to sit down, read data sheets and make calculations on pencil and paper. This is why all modules are designed from scratch, without cloning any existing module or device. When an inspiration from an existing device is clearly marked (such as the wave folder or the 808 and 606 kicks), the original circuit is first understood and then modified, trying to maintain the same inner working but adding or modifying some features.
Another principle of MRG is to use only high quality components, especially for film capacitors, ICs, and everything that relates to user interaction: potentiometer, jacks, LEDs.
The end result is that of solid, aesthetically simple modules with a high quality sound that has left many unexpectedly surprised, especially considering their cost.
An incredible amount of time is dedicated to engineering them so that they can be produced effectively without compromising on the quality.
P.S.: MRG stands for Murgia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altopiano_delle_Murge) the hills where I grew up in Southern Italy. Some people thinks it stands Mr.G., and that's fine, too! :-)
