Designer, seamster, and Jersey Shore rat (and lover of rats).
The short story is that I’ve been sewing since before I could ride a bike, and it’s where my heart is.
I think it was around age 12 that I started making plush toys, and over the past 15 or so years I’ve come to realize that I won’t be happy unless I’m creating and learning new things! I’m in it for the long haul. Plush-making has opened me up to so many different areas of craft and allowed me to build up endless resources (and friendships). Not to mention, I love the joy on peoples’ faces when they see their favorite character, a cute monster, or a sweet and strange new friend.
My specialty is in soft goods, but pretty much anything handmade gets me totally pumped up! I adore dyeing and screen printing fabric, crocheting, fabric design, sculpting, embroidery… I’m that person who you see in a fabric shop, shamelessly rubbing their face against the bolts. (Ok, maybe a little shame.) I also have a lot of fun illustrating to generate/inspire ideas!
I’m an ex-ad agency worker who is grateful for the slightly less hectic lifestyle - I’m happy to be back into the craft world. For me, perfection is a misty morning at a cabin in the woods, sitting with a cup of tea, a gently breezy spring day where the sun warms my bones, the quiet early hours well before the sun rises in the winter. Simple moments fill me with happiness, and this applies to my aesthetic as well.
