Hi! I'm Julia and I'm a grad student living in St Louis. I work in STEM, and art and science have always felt like two sides of a coin for me. I'm passionate about both, and draw much of my inspiration from the natural world, but am also fascinated by mythology and literature.
I got into linocut printmaking in 2018 and haven't looked back. I find the meditativeness and physicality of the carving process therapeutic. My prints, while pulled from the same block, show small variations. Some would call these imperfections, but I think it reflects the fact that each print is a unique piece, reflecting the handiwork and manual process that goes into making each one. Being able to share my art with the world makes me happy, and I hope that my art brings some joy to you as well.
