Ahoy! ⚓ from the Crusty Crew!

My love of crustaceans first set sail with my discovery of the Mantis Shrimp 7 years ago on The Oatmeal. I was completely consumed by this amazing creature whose uniqueness and talent seemed never ending. Everywhere I went I told people about the mantis shrimp, and every chance I got I drew it.

Six years later, my love of crustaceans was still going strong, but suddenly it hit me like a tsunami.🌊 I was obsessed. Every thought I had and everything I did involved them. To me crustaceans were the greatest thing since sliced bread, but to everyone else - they were gross, scary, and ugly. I felt if only I could show people how I saw crustaceans, maybe they would give them a second look. It was at this moment I found my purpose.

I created Sailor Shrimpp to educate, inspire, and build a community. Using my creativity and imagination, I strive to educate others on the coolest crustaceans out there and inform them about a struggling ecosystem. I work to inspire others to love the ocean and protect it. And lastly, I hope to build a community of crustacean lovers and provide them with means to express themselves.
