Welcome to Skip&Titch

Hello, I’m Carly.
I operate from my creative space within my home in Ashington, Northumberland alongside working full time in a local paint factory.

It all started as a hobby during the first lockdown. I was made redundant from my job as a Pharmacy Manager. Luckily, I was able to get another job fairly quickly but not being in a managerial position gave me a lot more free time and my creative head space back.

My love of dogs and all animals in general is the powering force behind Skip&Titch. There is no better love than the love of a pet. Pets are considered family in my house and your pets are just as special to me too. My business is even named after my two Jack Russell’s Skip and Titch.

Although Titch is no longer with us, she still deserved her name in the spotlight as she was such a magnificent dog. I loved her very much. She was a typical Jack Russell in nature. Absolutely ball obsessed and never stopped running. She was a feisty little thing and took no prisoners. We had her for three short years. She was a rescue and shortly after coming to us we found out she had liver & kidney disease. We were heartbroken but vowed we would do everything possible to keep her healthy for as long as possible. We kept her going for a long time. She was still happy and bouncy but began to take terrible fits. We decided it was kinder to let her go. So trust me when I say I know how painful it is to lose a dog. It took us five years to consider another. But then.................. we found Skip.

Skip is my current dog. He is a rescue Jack Russell from Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter. He is a lovely little lad. So affectionate and funny. He had separation anxiety when we first brought him home but he is well settled now. We do not know much about his background all we know is that he was taken from the shelter and brought back because the new owner could not afford his medication. He has dry eye so has eye drops twice a day. We snapped him up without a question. He was snuggled up in our bed that very same night. He continues to sleep on my head most nights. I would lost without him. He is always sitting beside me while I am creating designs and packing orders. He even has a bed in my office. He is such a little sweetheart with a big personality. When my first sales started to come through and I received such warm, positive feedback. These came from people I had emotionally touched with my designs. Especially my collection of Pet Loss Prints. It is so nice to bring a little happiness to someone that is grieving the loss of their pet. I have been through it myself so trust me when I say I know how much it hurts. These positive comments and reviews kept me going to grow Skip&Titch to where it is now.

I have always been a creative person with working history in visual merchandising. I began crafting with my mam from a very young age. We often made cards and various other items together. There is nothing better to sit with a blank canvas and create something wonderful. It is definitely good for my soul.

You as my customers are what I value the most. I will always strive to provide the best possible service and the highest quality designs. If ever you feel that I have not met this do not be afraid to let me know. I would much rather know about an issue and fix it, than you not be satisfied and not have not opportunity to resolve it.

I do like a challenge too. If you feel you need a more personalisation and would like me to tailor your design from a photograph. I do offer a custom design service for a small fee. You will find information about this in each listing. A custom design will come with unlimited proofs to ensure your design is spot on. I will keep in contact with you through Etsy messages.

If you would like me to create something a little more unique that you cannot see in my shop do not be afraid to ask. As we say in the North “Shy bairns get nowt”. It means if you don't ask you don't get. I will be more than happy to help you create something special.

All of our prints are printed onto premium quality 220gsm Archival Matt Photography Card to give a sharp print and smooth finish. I use Premium Branded Inks to deliver clean finishes on our products.

This will be a digital copy that will be emailed to you so you can print yourself at home.

A4 & A5 Print Only: Packaged in a carboard backed envelope for protection.

Framed A4 & A5 Prints: I use carefully selected suppliers to provide framed prints ensuring they reach you in the best condition.
