Our candles and melts use phthalate-free fragrance oils that include both natural and synthetic ingredients, which are lab tested for consumer safety, and cruelty-free. You might think that essential oils would be a safer alternative, but in fact essential oils are potentially toxic when burned, so we steer clear of them.

To get the best experience with your candle, make sure to allow time for the first burn to last for 3–4 hours while attended. This is important! When you burn a candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the wax will only melt as far as it did on that first burn. Crazy, right? So really, make sure that when you burn the candle the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar.

Before every burn, trim your wick to ¼ inch. Do not allow trimmed wick to fall into the wax, as this is a fire hazard.

Make sure to keep the candle away from children, pets, and any drafts and only use them on heat proof surfaces. Don’t move the candle when the wax is liquid and don’t touch the candle while it is hot. Do not leave a burning candle unattended!

Our candles last for 40–50 hours when burned in 3–4 hour increments. The better you take care of the candle with proper burning methods, the longer it will last.

Melts are a great way to get all the lovely fragrance of a candle without the fire hazard! Pop one or two into an approved electric or plug-in wax warmer. Check your fragrance warmer’s instructions for recommendations on usage. We generally burn our melts for 3–4 hours at a time. Each melt should have good fragrance for 6–10 hours. After the wax loses its scent, let the wax cool in the warmer. When the wax has cooled, set the tray in the freezer for a few minutes and the wax should pop right out with a butter knife!
