The thought of starting Studio Ashtree first popped into my mind in late 2022 when I rediscovered my love for sewing and creating. My grandmother first taught me to sew when I was young, I actually still have the first thing we ever made together! It's a little case with a zip that I use for my contact solution when I travel. After coming up with the idea of starting a shop selling my handmade items, I realised that I didn't want to contribute to the ever-growing issue of overconsumption. So the idea behind Studio Ashtree was born, I take pre-existing items, such as curtains from a charity shop or fabrics someone no longer wants and make new items out of them. Nothing is wasted, I find a use for even the tiniest of scraps! I hope I can inspire you to find ways to express yourself through style in a sustainable way.
