All my life, I have been creating things.
Before I even started grade school, my grandmother taught me to sew by hand and a few years later I was making some of my own clothes and even my dress for Senior Prom. I progressed through quilting, machine embroidery, and digitizing embroidery designs as an adult and more recently sew for my granddaughters (we'll come back to them) and my neighbor whose Labrador pup has twice ripped open both the inner cover and outer cover for his dog bed that I made for him. Other lifelong hobbies include art and paper crafting; you name I dabble in it. And I'm one of those people who look at things and think "I like that, but I'd rather it ...". So all along the way, I've been making things and personalizing them to my needs.
Before I retired a few years ago, I had decided to follow one of my passions into a business of my own. I even knew the name of my future business and reserved the domain name -sweetgingerdesigns.com. I chose that name because my sweet granddaughters are little red heads. At that time, I was thinking more along the lines of selling digital downloads for machine embroidery and quilting. But life intervened and papercrafting became my strongest passion. Then I got back into planning and organizing my life and started making my own stickers and inserts and here I am using all my computer skills (I had a job before) to create graphics in Adobe Illustrator to make stickers and other accessories for my planner and papercrafts. I've primarily used Microsoft Publisher for printables (like Kitchen Inventory pages) because it makes setting them up printing on both sides with a wider margin on the bound/punched side much easier.
My list of designs/layouts keeps growing and I've rambled on enough ... must get back to work after I add "Quilt Theme" to my list.
