In 2019 thankubody Books & Zines was launched by Kim Rounsefell, a Dietitian living in California at the time.

Kim is passionate about bringing literature into public spaces to help people with their mental health and body image. After helping people in her work in eating disorder treatment, and researching the impacts of social media exposure on the body image, she felt a need to bring together literature that supports mental health and body image in different workspaces.

In 2022, Kim returned to Australia and moved thankubody across the globe, with our headquarters now based in Willunga, South Australia.

We publish and distribute empowering zines, and write articles centered around mental health, body image, and self-care to help you thrive both online and offline.

Our Etsy shop features thankubody published zines and guides on art & creativity, body image, healing, journaling, media literacy, mental health, mindfulness, self-compassion, social media, and more.

Nurturing one's creativity and building skills in self-reflection are a big part of our mission. We donate proceeds from every sale to support non-profit organizations that integrate creativity as part of community programs.

Our bodies aren't always perfect at their job, but they always try their best to keep us safe. Sometimes it's important to say "thank you body."
