Focus changes everything.
Hey friend! I'm Becky. I'm in love with Jesus, my music-man, our three (quickly growing) kids, and all things creative.
I'm a dancer battling CRPS, a debilitating nerve disorder that knocked me off my feet in 2014. I spent years on crutches, in wheelchairs, in excruciating pain, going through risky spine procedures and so many treatments to try to get back on my feet. It's been a rough journey, but God has always carried me, even when I didn't have legs to stand on.
I'll tell you what I've learned, no matter what: God doesn't change when our circumstances change. He's always faithful, always loving, always good. So, I'm determined to fix my eyes on that Truth. To cling to His hope. To walk through pain, because I know I'll never be alone in it.
I believe that focus changes everything {Hebrews 12:1-2, Matthew 6:22, John 15, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18}. What we choose to focus on, wherever we are, and no matter what we're going through...that's what To Choose Joy is all about. It's choosing to believe that God is still faithful, still loving, still good. We can walk in overflowing hope, strength, even JOY, in the hardest times, when we remember that Jesus is our source of all of it.
Fun twist in the story:
In 2020, God brought my family to Hawaii, and along with that move came incredible restoration for my body. I've been walking and running and surfing and DANCING ever since.
I love how Philippians 4:8 tells us God's peace will guard us when we think about whatever is true and whatever is lovely. So, I'm here to help you keep your mind on what's true...and what's lovely, too.
I want to walk beside you (whether my legs are being reliable or not), and to give you tangible resources to help you focus on whatever is TRUE, no matter where you are and no matter where you go.
