Frequently asked questions

Troubleshooting

Tunneling → Tunneling can be caused by not allowing your wax pool to melt to the sides of the jar.

Burning Unevenly → If your candle is burning to one side of the jar, but not quite to the other, this is likely due to a draft or burning on an uneven surface.

Black Smoke and/or Crackling Sound → Extinguish the flame, trim your wick to 1/4” and re-light!

“Wet Spots” on Jar → Wax expands and contracts from the sides of the jar with temperature fluctuations. This will not affect your candle.

Crystals on Wax → This is the natural wax re-crystallizing and is totally normal. This will not affect your candle.

Wax Turning Yellow → This is a normal occurrence in some chemical-free fragrance oils and does not affect your candle.

How long will my candle burn for?

With proper care, the 9 ounce candles will burn for approximately 70 hours and the 16 ounce candles will burn for approximately 100. 2 ounce wax tins will yield approximately 15 hours of burn time. Wax melts yield approximately 20 hours per cube.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Current production time is 1-3 business days from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated in the shop announcement section.

Expedited shipping will not speed up production time, it will only allow the item to arrive faster once USPS has received it.

A tracking number will be sent to you via e-mail - this tracking number will give you an exact date in which your item(s) will arrive. If you do not receive an e-mail notification with tracking info, please let me know and I will send it to you.

If you need your item by a certain date, please let me know before you make your purchase so that I can try to accommodate your request.

How do I take care of my soy candle?

*Do not trim your wick before the first burn!
*Let the wax pool reach the edges of the candle the first time you light it. This will prevent tunneling in future burns.
*Burn your candle for roughly one hour for every inch the candle is wide (do not exceed 4 hours regardless of size!)

Minimum burn time to prevent tunneling: 2.5 - 3 hours (2 hours for the 2 oz tins)

*Keep your candle away from drafts. The slightest draft will cause the candle to burn unevenly.
*Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface.
*Always trim your wick to 1/4" before lighting.

Lost/Stolen/Damaged Packages

If your package was lost or stolen, but the tracking was mark as "delivered", we kindly ask that you contact USPS to file an insurance claim. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for "delivered" packages.

If your package has not arrived and is stuck in transit, it could be delayed. Please reach out to me if you have any concerns and I will inquire with the postal service.

If your package is damaged upon arrival, please contact me with a picture of the damaged product and I'll send a replacement out to you.

Shipping In Warm Weather

Warm weather can cause your candles and/or wax melts to melt in transit. I prefer to ship your candle to a P.O. box or a mailbox where you can immediately retrieve your package and bring it inside under sustainable temperatures. Please note that melting is a fairly rare occurrence and I always package my products in the best way possible to withstand the elements.
