Welcome!
PsalmPrayers offers original ecumenical Sacred Art; Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Celtic. Most of the listings are primarily hand-pulled block prints (woodcuts & linocuts) designed, drawn, carved, printed (and in some cases painted) by the artist Kreg Yingst.
All proceeds from the specific categories “Books,” “Mystics, Saints & Poets (with asterisk),” “Homeless” Series, and “Psalms” Series are donated to charity.

Here’s some insight into the following groups of work:
Psalms in Block Prints: I illustrated the entire book of Psalms, all 150 of them, over the course of an eight year period.. I’m only featuring some, but if you have a favorite and would like to see it, just message me! I also sell the book, Psalms in 150 Block Prints, that features all the prints, along with the text from various translations. I’m currently working on a journal.
Mystics, Saints & Poets: This group of prints started as a New Year’s resolution following the Sandy Hook School shootings. I vowed to “carve” a prayer per week, determined to have the light penetrate the darkness. The 52 chosen are a selection from Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox. A book, Light from Darkness: Portraits and Prayers was also released featuring all 52 block prints, along with about 170 prayers.
I continue to add to this series with the hope of a new book of Saints & Mystics tentatively titled, Imago Dei, due out in the fall of 2024.
Anamchara Series (Celtic Saints). This ongoing series began in 2020 with my sights set on traveling to Ireland, Scotland, and England. Those plans fell through as a result of Covid, however, I continue to add to this series of the Celtic Saints as I explore and dig deeper into their lives and stories.
Book of Hours Series. This group of seven large prints features the Monastic Hours of Prayer; Vigils, Lauds, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers & Compline. My intention being to create a contemporary rendition, yet still allude to the ancient Benedictine tradition. The works deal with prayer pauses through the passing hours of the day, as well as the seasons of life.
Saint Francis: A Bouquet of Praise. After visiting Assisi, Italy in the summer of 2016 and seeing the narrative frescoes of Francis’s life by Giotto in the Basilica, as well as viewing the beautiful Bardi Altarpiece in Florence, this series began. It features 17 small prints, a mid size work, and one large “altarpiece” that presents all of the images combined. There will eventually be an available book and portfolio of the entire collection of prints.
Ave Maria: A Visual Suite of Block Prints. This series of 32 prints features traditional and Magic Realistic interpretations of the various titles of Mary as seen throughout art history. The series was done in conjunction with a project by writer/poet, Christine Valters Paintner, to illustrate her book, “Birthing the Holy: The Wisdom of Mary and the Sacred Feminine,” due to come out in the Spring of 2022.

5 out of 5 starsThese are great. I get a smile on my face every time I think about St. Brendan and his crew's reaction to him.

5 out of 5 starsI purchased this with "Slowness and Pausing". They will both be placed on my desk where I can see them daily as I look forward to a pilgrimage on the Camino (hopefully this fall!). Beautiful!

5 out of 5 starsI love everything about this print. This will sit on my desk where I can see it every day -- not only for spiritual inspiration but also (as a beginning student of linoleum block printing) for artistic inspiration. Stunning!
