My Approach to Art
When I work with clay, I find myself embarking on a journey without a predefined direction. My artistic process revolves around experimentation, constantly pushing the boundaries and exploring new possibilities. This dynamic approach prevents my work from being easily categorized under a single signature style, as I continually evolve and explore different avenues.
The creative expressions of my fellow artists inspire me to explore various techniques and avenues when working with clay. For instance, I may dedicate a day to sculpting a mesmerizing sculpture, only to find myself the next day sitting at my wheel, crafting beautiful mugs. On other occasions, I might focus on fabricating molds that enable me to achieve the perfect bowl form. Sometimes, I surrender to my brushes, allowing my inner self to transcend the limitations of three-dimensional form on my workbench.
While recognition is not primarily driven by monetary gain for me, I aspire to receive acknowledgment for my artistic endeavors. The satisfaction lies in knowing that I have created something that resonates with the public, something they appreciate and desire to own. I create art to bring joy into the world, crafting objects that I perceive as beautiful.
As a visual artist who fluidly moves between the realms of functionality and artistic expression, I constantly immerse myself in research, particularly in the realm of experimental glazes. I delight in dabbling with the painting process and reveling in the intricacies of modeling and sculpting. Each day, I surrender to my emotions, allowing them to guide me in my clay-art journey, and it proves to be an immensely fulfilling experience.
