Announcement
Welcome to our Etsy shop! We've been making and selling our sterling silver jewellery on the beautiful Hebridean island of Iona, here in Scotland, since 1997. Our traditional jewellery (or jewelry), is created from original designs by Iain MacCormick and his predecessors, Alexander and Euphemia Ritchie, who were inspired by the rich cultural landscape that surrounded them. The history of St. Columba and early Celtic Christianity, the Book of Kells and the intricately carved medieval stones of Iona Cathedral and Nunnery are all echoed in the patterns and forms of their unique pieces.
Whilst acknowledging this wonderful work, Aosdàna also seeks to reflect the present cultural and physical landscape of Iona through our contemporary collections. Here you will find a trace of the past echoing through our modern designs, created using a combination of traditional bench skills and new technology. The items listed here represent just a small selection of our range, which you'll find on our website at www.aosdanaiona.com.

5 out of 5 starsI visited Iona this year on our Scotland holiday all the way from Australia & I found this jewellers shop on the island and bought some earrings for my daughter. I was thrilled to be able to purchase a cross for myself now. It is a lovely weight & made with great craftsmanship. Thrilled 🤩

5 out of 5 starsI love this shop! At this point, I don't look for jewelry anywhere else. The small nunnery cross is a work of art. I wear it with everything, from silk dresses to wool sweaters and jeans.
