Announcement    Welcome to Oaks Jewellery!

Store times:
Monday to Thursday - from 8am to 5pm. We will do our best to get any orders received before 1pm dispatched the same day, if not it will be the next day.
We will respond to messages during these hours as quickly as we can. After hours will be responded to the next day.

Friday - 8am to midday. We will do our best to get any orders received before 9am dispatched, if not it will fall to Monday to be sent out.

Cancellations – the golden hour
We try to get orders sent out the same working day and so there is a small window of opportunity to cancel before we have started the packing process. As such any orders can only be cancelled within one hour, please message us directly to do so.


Shipping:-

DOMESTIC
- We aim to ship all items by the next working day and delivery can take up to five business days, any orders received after 9am Friday will be shipped first thing on Monday.
- We are not responsible for any goods lost in transit; we dispatch all our items by 1st Class Royal Mail (untracked) but offer recorded delivery as a shipping upgrade. If you would like to use this service then please select from the shipping options prior to ordering.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
- We are not responsible for any overseas taxes or customs charges applied to our goods and do not include these in our price; please refer to the policy in your country for further information on any applicable charges.
- We are not responsible for any goods lost in transit; we dispatch all overseas orders by DPD delivery which gives a tracking number.
- If any packages are sent back to us as 'unclaimed for' or 'no response', we will be charging an additional £5 to resend the item to cover our losses on the tracked postage.


Returns and Refunds

We want you to love your jewellery and so do offer refunds (except on earrings that have been worn for hygiene reasons) on goods returned to us within 10 days of ordering. These products must be in their new and unworn condition, in the original packaging. We do not cover postage and will not accept goods that have been taken out of packaging or worn so do get in touch prior to ordering if you have any questions as we are always happy to answer any queries.

Personalised or custom orders cannot be returned or refunded unless faulty. We try to include as much information as possible as well as accurate images so that you can make an informed decision before making your purchase. Materials:-

Sterling silver
Our pieces which are made from solid sterling silver (.925) have a .925 hallmark, which is the hallmark for sterling silver. Sterling silver jewellery can tarnish over time as a result of many factors such as moisture in the air, interaction with perfume and hairspray, however if this happens do not worry as the jewellery will generally polish shiny again using a silver jewellery polishing cloth.

9ct gold plate
Some of our pieces which are made in solid sterling silver (.925) are then finished with either a 9ct yellow gold or 9ct rose gold plate. These pieces will have a .925 hallmark, which is the hallmark for sterling silver. We apply a protective e-coating to our plated sterling silver jewellery, but as all plated jewellery can tarnish over time, please refer to our jewellery care instructions to help prevent tarnishing of plated goods.

9ct rolled gold
A collection of our range is made using 9ct rolled gold. 9ct rolled gold uses solid 9ct gold which has been bonded to another metal and is very durable and especially resistant to tarnishing, however please avoid wearing this material in the shower or when in contact with liquids or perfumes. These pieces have the RG hallmark to assure quality and result in a finish which stays golden for longer.

Swarovski crystals
Our Swarovski crystal pieces are plated in a rich 9ct yellow gold, 9ct rose gold or bright silver to give their lustrous finish. We use the highest quality plating to make sure they look beautiful for longer. All our plating is free from nickel, lead and cadmium and once plated an anti-tarnish protective layer is applied to aid longevity. All jewellery does tarnish over time but please refer to our jewellery care instructions to help prevent tarnishing of plated goods.


Jewellery care

As with all metals, special care must be taken to ensure they do not scratch or tarnish. Our products are designed for all day wear, but be mindful of taking it off before the following:-

- Contact with liquids and chemicals. Showering, the sea, the pool, cleaning, can all speed up tarnishing.

- Exercising. Please take off all jewellery prior to exercise as contact with sweat can speed up tarnishing, plus excessive wear and tear.

- Beauty regime. Applying products like lotions, hairspray, perfumes, moisturisers, etc. should all be avoided whilst wearing jewellery.

- Storage. Keep out of direct sunlight and store your pieces in a soft pouch, ideally separately.

- General wear and tear. Invest in a decent scratch-free polishing cloth to brighten up any dull pieces over time, knocks and daily wear will speed up the tarnishing process and fade of colour for plated pieces.
