Playing with clay and glass....
My 'artistic journey' started nearly 20 years ago, with a pottery evening class. I was completely hooked, and now have my own kiln and studio (well, it's more of a garden shed with delusions of grandeur).
In recent years I've expanded my skills into the field of traditional stained glass, making suncatchers and large panels using traditional leading and copper foil techniques.
My work is inspired by a million things, including my garden, the lush somerset countryside, early islamic ceramics, oriental art, art nouveau design.
My pottery is mainly coiled or sculpted/hand built, I love to experiment with colour and shapes, making pots, wall hangings, water features, buttons; anything that can be made of clay is fair game!
Buttons in particular, are great fun to make, they provide the perfect tiny canvas on which to experiment.
In my etsy shop you will find some of my smaller (and easier to post!) items.
