TECHNIQUE & ARTISTIC DETAILS

Each of my hand woven Miniature Textiles is made with careful handwork and attention to form as well as function.

Detail and commitment to artistry separate my handmade woven Dollhouse Textiles from many others.

I weave with traditional hand and foot powered looms.

Most pieces are hemmed and finished by hand, made one-of a kind, or in short runs.

I am not a production artist, and do not make 100s of the same thing.

That is the art of the craft!

MATERIALS

I use Natural Fibers and Yarns, mostly Cotton, Linen, Wool, Mohair and Alpaca, although some of my items use mixed fibers for variety, texture and novelty. Every fiber has characteristics that can be used alone, or blended with the others to get different textures and effects.

Each Miniature should be cared for as you would any well-crafted artwork.

With attention to care, Hand Woven Dollhouse Textiles last a long time and bring continued enjoyment, although just as with anything, they may not last forever.

Textile heirlooms from past generations are still used today, these Miniatures can be heirlooms for Dollhouse Collectors of the future.

I believe every house should have unique quality handmade items. Miniatures are a quirk of the imagination, too! Each of my pieces is one-of-a-kind or limited editions made individually. Variations in color, textures, and patterns are part of the natural characteristics of the materials and processes. (& quirks are sometimes natural characteristics of the artist, as well!)

I stand by my items for many years of use! I try to keep exchanges to a minimum, but mistakes do happen and sometimes details of items are not noticed before purchase.
