This is a handmade print in the Japanese woodblock method(moku hanga). The subject is the endangered Red Knot as well as numerous Laughing Gulls at Reeds Beach in New Jersey a well-known stopover and feeding area for Red Knots.

It is printed with Holbein Artist's Gouache on Masa Dosa Japanese printmaking paper. The actual print is 7x9 inches and the print with border is 8.5x11 inches. The edition is 12 with 5 being for sale here.

I am also currently printing an edition on Nishinouchi paper which is less brilliantly white. It will also be for sale here once I've finished the edition. I hope that the edition will be slightly larger than this one.

The impetus for creating this came from a recent news report about a significant decline in the number of Red Knots seen in New Jersey along the Delaware Bay in 2021.
