Welcome to my shop!
All the knitwear in the shop is hand knitted here in Scotland using the traditional cable designs worked by generations of Scots knitters and modelled by friends and family
By visiting my shop, you are supporting a small business that purchases yarns and other knitting items from other small businesses- thereby supporting a whole host of individual artisan workers
If there is an item you like but wish it in another size or colour, message me with your size details and desired colour - I will send you thumbnails of the available shades of your chosen colour and the price of your made to order purchase
My claim to fame is that I knitted for the major TV production "Outlander" and the US/UK stage production of "Islanders."
I knit for all age groups using only the top quality pure wool, alpaca yarn and wool blend yarns which give my knitwear that certain degree of excellence in look , style and luxury feel.
I also must add that the little stuffed toys I use for the childrens items are not included with the sale of the item
My order book is open all year round and items are added regularly to the my shop so visit often and Haste Ye Back!

5 out of 5 starsI contacted Sandra 4 to 5 years after she had knit a beautiful custom sweater for my husband. He wanted a hat in the same yarn. Sandra’s usual source no longer spins the colourway. As before, Sandra did some digging for me to find an alternative match. The hat was knit up in no time and made reference to the cable pattern Sandra used years ago for the sweater! Amazing all around‼️

My adult knitwear is mostly knitted in Shetland Aran Wool but, owing to demand I have Wool with Acrylic Blend sweaters for adults too.
My children's range is ready to purchase and are knitted using a Wool with Acrylic blend providing warmth with easy care or Acrylic for very easy laundering
The garments I have designed myself are highlighted in the description of the item and I hold copyright for these items. I also have a range of jumpers and cardigans which are public patterns. I ask the purchaser to be aware that they are buying knitwear they can't try on, so please take your measurements accurately before ordering.

Scottish Knitwear only collects basic personal data about you. This comprises of your name, e-mail address and postal address.
This is because I need this personal information to process your order.
I will not use your information for any other purpose other than than completing your order for you.
I do need to keep copies of your order for a minimum of 7 years - I need to comply with HMRC regulations to keep my Accounts for 7 years.
Your information will never be sold or given to any 3rd party - except for the method of payment provider and the Postal Service (Royal Mail)
I keep Etsy Conversations discussing your order for 3 months in case you have a problem with your order - after 3 months I delete the conversation.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have concerns regarding storage of your personal data

I send items out by the timescale given when your purchase is made - I cannot be held responsible for late delivery
All parcels whether to the UK or to countries outwith the UK are sent Tracked and Signed for to ensure the safe delivery of your chosen item
If you are purchasing multiple items, I am usually able to reduce the shipping costs and will refund you any excess shipping costs you have made upon shipping your order.

Please note that your country may require you to pay an import duty tax and fees. The
purchaser is responsible for these taxes and fees as they are payable to your country.
Please contact your countries Customs and Excise Office for all information regarding import duty and fees.
Damaged Shipments
If your purchase and the packaging has been damaged in transit, please send a photo of the damaged item and packaging for processing.
Request for return of damaged shipment must be requested within 5 days of product receipt.

All items for children are sent in gift bags within polythene postal packing.
Care instructions are given in the Description of the product in my Etsy shop, but also included in a Thank You letter with your purchase

All sizes quoted in the shop are as accurate as possible
Care instructions
I personally always recommend washing all woollen garments by hand and drying flat. Many yarn companies advise that their yarn can be washed by machine, which I have documented in the description if applicable, but my personal preference is to hand wash
Custom and personalised orders
I accept Custom orders but only for the items that are seen in the shop. If you would like something in a different size or colour to the item in the shop contact me and we will discuss the colour and size options.
Please note that some yarns used contain nebs of colour added to the main yarn colour (neb means a small projecting part) These are very attractive and add interest to the yarn - if you order a yarn with nebs please do not think this fraying of the yarn - if an item is Knitted with this yarn, it will be noted in the items description
